Sacral Chakra Clearing Meditation, yoga lesson

Good day fellow travelers. . .
Day two (2) of the Chakra lesson is that of the Sacral Chakra
the color is burnt orange and all
Relationships and Creativity is based here. The second chakra is the focal point of our emotions, sexuality and creativity. It rules our sense of self worth and how we relate to others in all ways. It is also where our self confidence stems from. This chakra's concerns are all about our emotional flow; feelings, fluidity and openness. The essence of this chakra is that of water, and it's planet is the moon. Never static, ever flowing it represents grace and acceptance, and an ability to go with the flow. . .
Location; is the lower abdomen.
Associated body parts include the hips, bladder, kidneys, stomach, bodily fluids (tears, urine, blood, menstrual fluids)

Basic issues; pleasure, sexuality, sensuality, emotions, intimacy, warmth, creativity and confidence
Gemstones and crystals; moonstone, orange tourmaline and tigers eye
Flower essence; basil, hibiscus and lady's slipper
Essential oils; ginger, ylang ylang, Jasmine and rose
Foods; liquids (water, juice, teas)

Major issues of and unbalanced Sacral chakra are sexual problems or dysfunction, fear of intimacy or fear of change, inability to feel pleasure. Guilt may become and overriding factor in your life. We may experience either a lack of emotional energy or emotional explosiveness.

Signs of an unbalanced 2nd chakra;
  • Emotional or mental issues; out of touch with feelings, overly emotional, poor boundaries with others as well as overt sexuality, excessive attachment, frustration or a tendency to be manipulative
  • Physical issues; gynecological problems, impotence, frigid, kidney bladder or urinary problems, stiff lower back or lower back ache
  • Common addictions; sex, work, relationships, sugar.
When the Sacral Chakra is balanced, we feel confident and able to relate to others in a healthy and open, friendly manner. We can feel and freely process emotions, allowing ourselves to find balance in our lives and appreciate the yin-yang of all existence. We are adaptable, feel creative and are tuned into the stream of life's energy
A balanced second chakra brings;
  • enjoyment of pleasure activities without guilt
  • a sense of surrender and of not having to be in control
  • a strong connection to others while maintaining boundaries
  • an ability to express and exhibit healthy emotional behaviors
Beneficial activities that promote balance are;
getting a message, enjoying music, taking a warm bubble or salt bath, doing yoga

Start this with the grounding meditation from yesterdays lesson
Now we are ready to begin. . .
The sound of this chakra is "Oo" let the "Oo" flow as you exhale

So let us enjoy a yoga position; Spinal flex
  1. Sit with your legs bent and feet comfortably crossed at the ankle
  2. Spine is straight, shoulders are relaxed, chin is slightly tucked
  3. place your hands on your shins or ankles
  4. Inhale, taking a long deep breath, through your nose and using your hands for leverage lift up your chest, exaggerating the curve of the spine and lower back
  5. Exhale through the mouth and sit back on your tailbone, allowing the back to round.
  6. Repeat the movement and breathing for two to three minuets finding your rhythm as your spine loosens, pick up the pace a little.
I am in the flow of my life

Benefits;
  • awakens the energy flowing from the second chakra
  • loosens the lower back and spine
  • improves the posture
I hope you enjoyed the lesson today. . . I will continue on each day to cover all of the chakras for the next 5 days. . . hope you will join me each day, to help raise our vibrations and connect to each other. . .many blessings

Root Chakra, balancing meditaion, yoga exercise

Today is December 1, 2012,
To end this year, for the next 7 days, I  will blog about the Chakra Healing Energy we all contain within us and offer a mini series on chakra clearing, balancing and grounding each chakra energy center through awarness and meditation
Let us start with the 1st - Root Chakra, which is located at the base of the spine, perineum.
The Root Chakra is deep red in color and it's element is the Earth. It's ruling planet is Saturn. It is associated with our basic animal instincts of survival and self preservation: food, shelter, health and security. It is the very foundation in which we identify ourselves. This chakra relates to the principal of gravity, connecting us to our bodies, to the physical world around us and to the ground below. It's essence is that of rock, self-sufficient and unto thy self. Associated body parts are the Pelvic, anus, large intestine, adrenal gland, back, legs, feet and bones.
Basic issues are of safety, survival, shelter, groundedness, nourishment, self-esteem, trust, boundaries and physical health. Foods that support the root chakra are proteins; soy, tofu, nuts and legumes. Essential oils for support of the root chakra are bergamot, sandalwood,  cinnamon. Gemstones are; garnet, onyx, smokey quartz. Flower essences; blackberry, clematis and corn

Major issues of an unbalanced Root Chakra are feelings of isolation, abandonment and a lack of trust. Fear may take control of our emotional and psychological health. There may be difficulty  manifesting what is needed such as a good job, relationship, a home, attracting friends. Coupled with a sense of lack, not having enough money, clothing, food, happiness and a conviction that material wealth is crucial

Signs of an unbalance Root Chakra are;
fear, anxiety, insecurity, worry, grief, depression, disconnection, distrust, numbness, low self-esteem and greeToday is December 1, 2012,

a sense of safety, a strong feeling of belonging, an ability to trust and sense of acceptance. A sense of fulfillment, of being at hoe in one's body and on the earth.
Activities to promote a balance Root Chakra are, yoga, walking, hiking, running, biking and gardening

I am grounded and connected to the earth

Meditation to balance the Root Chakra;
Focus on the Root Chakra, the color red and the sound of  "O". Chant the sound "O"
  • Stand with your feet at about the width of the hips apart. Arms at your sides or extended out in front of you
  • Inhale, deep, filling your entire belly, pulling the energy up through your feet, up through your entire body
  • Exhale and while doing so, gently bend your knees a few inches, inhale again and straighten your knees,
  • Continue slowly bending and straightening your knees in coordination with your long, deep breaths
  • Each time you breath in and bend your knees and exhale, straightening your knees, feel yourself becoming more and more connected to the earth. Feel the rhythm of Mother Earth fill your being with her strength and peacefulness
  • Continue on for about 3 minuets or until you feel comfortable with your groundedness
  • When complete, remain standing or sit comfortably closing your eyes completely now, and focus on the following thought
I am grounded and balanced. . .I am safe and secure. . .

This will clear and calm your mind, slows breathing and heart rate, promotes a sense of profound physical connection to the earth and spirit

Tomorrow we will go over the Sacral Chakra-Orange-2nd Chakra
until then. . . blessings

August at Bristol Ren Faire

Oh. . . Bristol Renaissance Faire, how I love thee. . .

The patrons., the actors, the friends that are like extended family and of course, with all it's fantasy, the love that fills the air as the gates begin to open and the floods of people come rushing in for a true adventure. To step back in time and be entertained by the antics, acts and wonderful shops that makes Bristol one of the best faires in the circuit.
Settled in the woods on the Wisconsin/Illinois boarder the grounds are so magical in them selves. I've seen times when it rained all around us and still the sun was shining and grounds were dry as everyone enjoyed the pleasures of the faire.

I love this faire. . . it is such a healing place to be. And I am not alone with this feeling. As you sit back and watch the people meander through the grounds, they are filled with an enchantment like no other place in the world. Everyone is connected in the fantasy of days of long ago. In the past but present, they smile and feel the rush that spirit sends through you when everything strange is so familiar to you and you smile and relax and go with the flow of the time and place. As the passion builds inside of you, you become who you were, who you truly are and it's nothing short of magnificent.
Even though I moved away from Bristol, I long to visit the faire and the many wonderful people who go to work there.

Hope to see you there sometime. . .

Yule Tide Blessings

Ahhh, it's almost that time again. . . break out the Yule log, light your candles, put up the tree and get ready to sit in the gathering room with friends and family.
Pretty soon the snow will start to fall and blanket the earth to protect nature from the harshness of winter. And as we hunker down for the winter solstice we'll have time to reflect on all those holidays gone by that held all the magic of the season.
The Santa Moon's are ready to roll and the candles are nearly all poured. For me Christmas is a time to be spent getting ready until the time runs out. That's when I'll sit back and enjoy the present. In the moment, as the magic of the day unfolds like a well written script, I'll play my role and cherish the time as the new memories are manifested and become reality. Everything I have worked for will come full circle as does the circle of the year and I'll enjoy every single smidgen of it. Enjoying the love, the laughter and healing.

Speaking of healing. . .I have become obsessed with making the chakra pyramid candle series again this year.
This Root Chakra candle is not complete yet but this is the base product of what it will look like. It will be topped with a snow cap for the season and tucked inside this candle is a Tibetan Crystal, which after the candle has burned down, the buyer will have the blessed crystal to carry and use as grounding energy.
 Chakra Pyramid candles are a 7 candle series which include Chakra Meditations and a full color booklet, which explains each of the seven chakras, where they are located, what energy they rule and all the pertinent properties of each chakra.
Since winter is long, we have plenty of time to meditate to clear our chakras and heal our selves.

For now, enjoy the holiday season. . .I should get back to work, many Santa's to finish and candles to pour.

many blessings. . .
