Oh. . . Bristol Renaissance Faire, how I love thee. . .
The patrons., the actors, the friends that are like extended family and of course, with all it's fantasy, the love that fills the air as the gates begin to open and the floods of people come rushing in for a true adventure. To step back in time and be entertained by the antics, acts and wonderful shops that makes Bristol one of the best faires in the circuit.
Settled in the woods on the Wisconsin/Illinois boarder the grounds are so magical in them selves. I've seen times when it rained all around us and still the sun was shining and grounds were dry as everyone enjoyed the pleasures of the faire.
I love this faire. . . it is such a healing place to be. And I am not alone with this feeling. As you sit back and watch the people meander through the grounds, they are filled with an enchantment like no other place in the world. Everyone is connected in the fantasy of days of long ago. In the past but present, they smile and feel the rush that spirit sends through you when everything strange is so familiar to you and you smile and relax and go with the flow of the time and place. As the passion builds inside of you, you become who you were, who you truly are and it's nothing short of magnificent.
Even though I moved away from Bristol, I long to visit the faire and the many wonderful people who go to work there.
Hope to see you there sometime. . .
